Wherever you are in the UK, you will have a wonderful choice of available properties located nearby. If you’re on the lookout for a place to live, you should bear in mind that, if it’s close to a football ground, there will be large crowds in the vicinity from time to time.
Although there are plenty of flats to rent in Manchester, for example, those that are close to Old Trafford may not be everyone’s idea of a perfect home. The throngs of people can affect traffic in the surrounding area, making it difficult to get to and from your street.

The life of a modern Premier League footballer is as glamorous now as it once was for a Hollywood movie idol. The most famous among them command huge salaries and bonuses from their clubs, as well as lucrative deals to endorse anything from soft drinks to aftershave. Celebrity magazines carry stories about their luxurious lifestyles and lavish weddings.
They can buy homes anywhere in the world, from the sun-kissed islands of the Mediterranean to the oil-rich countries of the Middle East. They drive around in cars which most of us can only dream of, as well. Its a wonderful life these days.

One of the success stories in computing has been the rise and rise of football management games. They’re incredibly detailed and can also be wonderfully addictive. So if you’ve ever dreamed of taking Exeter City to the Champions League final, this could be your chance. Simply load up your laptop and get started.
It may take a while to achieve your goal, of course, but with a little wheeling and dealing in the transfer market it can be done. A newer computer, with a more powerful processor, will make the game-play faster, and will enable the use of a larger database.

Although the housing market may have suffered a torrid time of late, I believe the rental market for new apartments is on the up.

I live in Brighouse in West Yorkshire, where apartments are moving pretty quickly. LIterally, as soon as they’re placed on the market, they’re snapped up by a willing tenant.

This isn’t only true of Brighouse. Leeds is only 20 miles away, and the situation is exactly the same. Many footballers have moved to the area, and rented new apartments close to the main stadia.

You really have to be quick nowadays when looking for a new place to live.

I’m going to sell my mobile and get one of those new, whiz-bang smartphones. I hadn’t been that bothered about such devices till recently. Sure, they are cool, play your videos and music and even make phones but I was fairly happy with what I had.

That was until I discovered that there is now an app that allows you to watch live football through your iPhone. It is £10 a month, but to me it’s well worth it for easy and direct access to live football.

And, no doubt after the new device arrives, I’ll find plenty of other uses for it and it will soon become indespensible.

I can’t see Tony Mowbray hanging on to his job, or his Glasgow property for that matter, for much longer after the humbling from St Mirren.

Teams like Celtic just shouldn’t be beaten by teams like St Mirren. That’s no disrespect to the Buddies, but just look at the budget deferential between the two sides and the players at their disposal.

Apparently, it was St Mirren’s biggest win over Celtic for 52 years lumping further pain on what has been a disastrous season for the Hoops.

However, with Rangers punted out of the Scottish Cup, Celtic are now firm favourites to take the trophy. Personally, I’m hoping for a Raith Rovers and Ross County final but I imagine Celts will get their act together to win the final.

Received a gift token for the Manchester United supporters shop at Christmas and finally spent it a few weeks ago.

I spent it at Old Trafford after being lucky enough to get a ticket for the Champions League match against Inter Milan which United comfortably won 4-0.

So what to buy? A strip seemed obvious but the next question was which name to have on the back? Obviously, Rooney’s been in great form but it seemed a little obvious to get his name so I instead went for one of my favourite players – Darren Fletcher.

And sure enough, he went on to score the final goal. Good one Dazza!

Pretty busy just now looking for Rome flights and planning a big football weekend for later in the year.

The plan is fairly simple. Get cheap flights to Italy’s capital, enjoy the atmosphere, visit the attractions that make the city famous and head to the “Stadio Olimpico” – the home of both the Lazio and Roma football teams.

Ideally, I’d like to go and see the two teams battle out the “Derby della Capitale”, the “derby of the capital” for non-Italian speakers, but I’m more concerned about getting affordable flights and accommodation.

Anyway, since the two clubs ground share, there will always be one of the two teams playing at home on the weekend we choose.

As another frantic week of football ends, with matches on every night, we can only assume that the dominance of English teams within the Champions League is only set to continue.

Note Arsenal’s superlative display over an admittedly fairly dreadful Porto side. Scoring five goals in any game is impressive but especially so at this stage in the competition.

The following night the TV cameras headed north to take in the spectacle of Manchester United taking on AC Milan. The match played out like a Man U fan had written the script with four goals for his side, none for the visitors and an almost commemorative atmosphere for the final 20 minutes when United’s golden boy Becks turned our for The Italians.

Overall, a good week to be an Arsenal or a Man U fan, just don’t mention Liverpool.

It is my good friend’s wedding later this summer and to mark the occasion we’re going on a stag weekend to Berlin at the start of May.

It is sure to a good affair although whether I’ll remember it all I wouldn’t like to say.

To make the hassle of the airport just a bit easier, I’ve booked the services of a Gatwick meet & greet parking company. Using these boys makes the whole trip a more enjoyable experience and make the trip home far less time consuming.

The plans include a trip to the Olympic Stadium to watch Hertha Berlin take on Bayern Munich – this inparticular is something I’m very much looking forward too.
